Dr. Andreas Bienert. (b. 1957) He is charged with documentation and information technologies at the Director General of the National Museums in Berlin – Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SMB). As such he is responsible for the implementation and best use of related ICT-applications in National Gallery, Picture Gallery and Sculpture Collection. Prior to this he studied arthistory, literature and linguistics in Munich, Venice and Marburg. PhD on iconological aspects and the history of prison architecture (1300-1800).
Since 1985 he has been strongly involved in media technology projects like Marburger Index and DISKUS (Digital Information System on Art and Social History) at the Federal German Center for Art History Documentation, the Bildarchiv Foto Marburg. From 1992 to 1993 he had an employement at the Kunstmuseum Basel in Switzerland within an pilot project on networked museums.
His expertise in the development of electronic inventories and information systems in museums, archivs and galleries has been acknowledged in a series of European documentation projects like HELP, M.U.S.E.U.M or GIOVE. Actually he follows a particular interest in sound environment and auditory perception.[/lang_de]
